Head of Data & Analytics Nexi
Graduating with a degree in Electronic Engineering in 1994, he embarked on his career path in a leading Italian sporting goods company. Later, he took a key role in Pirelli Cavi, dealing with organization and production management in the Italian business. With the new millennium, he renewed his interest in databases and data analysis at Lince, a rapidly expanding business information company. His career then focused on data and technology-related projects, lending his expertise in the financial services sector for banks and corporations.
For more than a decade, he served in Cerved, an Italian credit information giant, holding the position of Head of Innovation & Data Sources. In this position, he led the company’s evolution into the big data era, leveraging internal teams of experts and data scientists and adopting the Open Innovation approach, with strategic investments in start-ups and cutting-edge companies.
Currently, he is employed at Nexi, a leading European player in digital payments services and infrastructure, where he serves as Head of Data & Analytics. Passionate about data, he fervently advocates the importance and listening to professionals in the field, particularly those with job titles beginning with “data”.
In 2019, he published the book “#AI expert” with Franco Angeli, which explores the evolution of the data sector in business, focusing on new emerging professions. In 2022, he brought out “The Culture of Data,” later translated into English in 2023. Since then, he also edits a newsletter on Substack under the same name, “The Culture of the Given,” where he delves into topics such as technology, business organization, investment, and the social impact of data and progress in artificial intelligence.
