Description

Let’s Learn to Learn” stems from the need to offer theoretical and practical tools to deal with learning independently. This course supports learners in acquiring new concepts through the customization of a process adapted to their needs and characteristics, based on a defined and repeatable methodology. The approach is enriched by elements of neuroscience that suggest more effective and efficient study methods.

A crucial aspect covered in the course is knowledge management, which is fundamental during any learning path or content enjoyment. Learning how to manage it using frameworks and best practices, enhanced by the latest digital technologies, makes it accessible and usable in different circumstances, even in the long term.

Finally, an exploratory approach with learners, rather than mere knowledge transfer, facilitates discovery of one’s own path. This is essential not only for applying what has been learned and approaching learning in a personal and sustainable way, regardless of the subject of study, but also for developing a mindset geared toward growth and continuous learning.

mode AND DURATION.

The course consists of six two-hour modules, for a total of 12 hours delivered via live streaming through Microsoft Teams.

Date: to be determined

who is addressed

People within a course of study, knowledge workers, and anyone with a need or desire to learn new subjects and disciplines in a structured way and to use what they have learned in a practical way, whether for professional needs or personal growth.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES AND SKILLS GAINED

The course aims to introduce students to the concept of half-learning, elements that then enable them to outline, set up, execute and monitor a learning path, regardless of the subject matter covered.

Another objective, closely related to the previous one, is to address the topic of personal knowledge management (PKM) and related implementation (PKMS), elements that allow the management of one’s own knowledge, acquired even during the process of study itself, through processes and tools that allow one to digitally save, process and retrieve concepts, and then reuse them not only during the learning path itself but also far ahead in time, for any operational activity.

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Describe how knowledge of a topic is structured
  • Set well-formed learning objectives
  • Set a learning path in a systematic way
  • Monitor one’s learning outcomes
  • Putting corrective actions in place when progress difficulties are encountered
  • Set up effective study sessions
  • Assess and use tools to support learning
  • Explain the basic mechanisms of our nervous system related to learning
  • Develop your own process for managing your knowledge
  • Choose a tool for managing one’s knowledge appropriate to one’s needs
  • Install, configure and use Obsidian software

Skills developed:

  • Awareness of one’s own ways of learning and choice of the most effective methods
  • Management of information gathered from study materials and external sources
  • Ability to synthesize and compose concepts
  • Development of a mindset oriented toward learning something new
  • Use of digital tools, including advanced ones, to support learning
  • Ability to self-analyze and solve study-related problems

PREREQUISITES AND AVAILABLE MATERIALS

Access prerequisites

Content and tools have a focus on the digital part, so it is recommended to have some familiarity with using a personal computer, knowing how to use a browser, install software, and so on.

Materials available:

  • Slides for the more theoretical part
  • Questionnaires/exercises
  • Specific configuration for Obsidian software seen in the course to apply to your own installation

METHOD OF EVALUATION

Currently, no end-of-course exam is planned.

At the end of each module, planned to use assessment tools (online questionnaires, etc.) to assay how well the most important concepts have been grasped.

Possibility also exercises to be done independently, to be discussed during module delivery
